Catherine is an enthusiastic instructor who enjoys sharing her passion of botanical art. Her students are guided through an in-depth program which includes developing skills in observation, drawing, composition, color mixing and watercolor techniques. Most of all, Catherine's students learn to "see" plants in a new way and paint botanical subjects with exquisite detail.
One of the primary instructors at Filoli since 1999, Catherine also teaches weekly classes in the San Francisco Bay Area. She organizes yearly exhibits for her students and is the founder of two Florilegiums. She and her students are illustrating the plants at The Gardens at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek, CA and at Quarryhill Botanical Garden in Glen Ellen, CA (see LINKS page).
